Praha, the Paris of the East....my arse! Having experienced both I'll take this one thank you Madam !

............................... When I first came here the city and the Czechs were experiencing great times of change and uncertainty. The so named 'Velvet revolution', had had its party and the every day life under a new regime had to be taken seriously (by those on the ground) and even now years later I think they did the only sensible thing, which is to go for it. Of course not everyone is fully in to it and there are many social problems which come with social freedom but I'm not writing to evoke the new revolution in those who cant handle a free market and individualism as it tortures the lazy, no these pages are for those of us who can be bothered to 'do Europe', and have a good time. And that you may well do here, dear reader. ...........................,,,.,,.. indeed the city of a thousand golden spires reaching to the stars. The centuries of arcitecture and creative brick lying may still be enjoyed although you may have to look beyond what the 'new Czech' seems to think that you want. So my motto for you as you take to the streets is 'Don't look down, look up'. Those are the streets nestled in between the outlying tower blocks so profusely erected by the impotent architects of the Iron curtain era.

Holesovice & Letna The Castle, Mala Strana & Smichov Old Town & The Jewish Quarter. Vinohrady & ŽIžkov & New Town Still and all the monuments still stand and the beer is still well within even the tightest budget. The cost of living is still well above the local basic wage, so on that level you are in a plus but don't shout about it, anyway money is not everything and when was the last time your President invited the late Frank Zappa to be minister for culture, when was the last time you won gold in the Olympic Ice Hockey games, when was the last time you sa so many beautiful women in one place (ladies you have to make do with the likes of Martina Navratilova, sorry), so hats off and bottoms up… Nazdravi.

To the left of u is an interactive map for u to poke & click around on to your hearts content.......... .click on the sections to achieve a more detailed view.

In many ways I feel still that this city was lucky to have had the situation of oppression, for without it we as visitors would be the next in a billon tourists to rip as opposed to the next million. I have also grown to know the people, and like it or not and no disrespect to those who suffered, and with respect to those who will in their/ this generation/ be the next ones to lash the whip. They have a deep knowledge of the intensity of politic, which most Westerners can only feebly relate to far away wars and paying tax.
The country is in great danger of selling out and by the same token in a great position and on the threshold of retaking her position as one of the most robbed yet richest nations in the white mans World. I say white mans World in the best possible taste now. The name Praha in the local lingo means threshold as named by the first Slavic princess to take some good October mushrooms, gaze over the area in 900 BC, proclaim,

"I have a vision",

............. and the rest is history.

I do hope you enjoy your time here as much as I have and remember, Robot is a Czech word.
Yours.

PS. If you made it this far and youre wondering why, Well I'm sorry to bore you its now 6am on a cold Czech morning and unable to sleep with one of the before mentioned lovely local ladies due to a Mother and Father of a tooth ache, here I sit as do you. With better things to do.
Getting back to the main frame of things you will find if you click on the options my own recommendations for the maximum utilisation of your time here and I take NO responsibility in the case of your dissatisfaction for it is not my fault if you are a dry shite!
Once more I wish you all the best, twice. For a man who never makes the same mistake twice, misses a lot of fun!

Welcome to the city of Prague.
